Welcome to the website of the Midshires Search & Rescue Organisation (Midshires)!
Midshires is a lowland search and rescue organisation. We can be called out by the police (we are used by the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire police forces, and by the Milton Keynes division of Thames Valley police), county Emergency Planning Officers or other search teams. Our role is to assist in the search for members of the public who have gone missing, particularly if they are deemed to be especially vulnerable, and to assist county teams in dealing with other types of civil emergencies.
We hope that you will browse our web site for more information about Midshires and the work that we do.
However, if you have any further questions or would like to find out more about us, please email us at enquiries@midshires.org.uk
Congratulations to Lou Holmes' eldest dog Brock (Lou is Chair of Lowland Search Dogs) who entered and then won the Cruft's Friends for Life competition this year. The Friends For Life competition recognises dogs that do things to help people. As a Lowland Search Dog, Brock was chosen to be in the final six and was declared the winner following a public vote.
A well deserved win by Brock, and a big thank-you to all those who voted for Brock.
