19 March 2010: Grassroots Money to Improve Training

Midshires has successfully improved its training facilities by obtaining funding for a new projector, screen and stand. We are also able to send four people for swift water training. We are pleased to say that this has been funded by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation’s Grassroots Grants fund after a successful grant application.

12 April 2010: Midshires Receive Grant from Caddington

Caddington Grant Presentation

During late December 2009 many from Midshires got to know the roads of Caddington very well as they walked them in the snow delivering leaflets. Now things have returned to normal, Caddington Parish Council kindly considered us eligible for a grant and it was presented to us by Tony Hansen, Chairman of the Parish Council at their Annual Parish Meeting on 12th April. This generosity is much appreciated and will enable us to purchase a new printer for our Control Vehicle.

Ampthill Singers Cheque Presentation

The Ampthill Singers kindly chose Midshires, as one of the recipients of their fundraising this year. Their successful concerts last year enabled them to present us with a very generous amount which is much appreciated.

After an interesting talk given by Elaine Murphy last March, the Aragon Ladies Club nominated Midshires to be their charity of the year for 2009/10. Following a very successful year of collecting Aragon Ladies Club presented Elaine (on the left in the picture) with a generous cheque to help Midshires with their work.
