How Can You Help to Support Midshires?

There are a number of things you can do to help support Midshires, most of which require little or no time or expense…

Buy Online and Raise Funds for Midshires

There’s now an even easier way for you to help raise funds for Midshires!

Easyfundraising is a shopping directory listing many of your favourite online stores including Amazon, Argos, Next, Debenhams, John Lewis, Toys R Us, HMV and over 600 others. Whenever you wish to shop online just go to your store via the links on the easyfundraising site and, at no extra cost to you, we'll receive a free donation of up to 15% from every purchase you make. It really is that simple!

It’s fast, simple and completely FREE to register (you only need to do this once) and you won’t pay a penny more for your shopping when you use the easyfundraising site. In fact you can even SAVE MONEY as many retailers offer discounts, special offers and even 'e-vouchers' exclusive to easyfundraising.

If you shop online anyway then why not raise valuable extra funds for us by using this fantastic scheme. Register now by visiting http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/midshiressro and clicking on the Register as a User button.

Donate Old Phones or Used Inkjet Cartridges

If you are about to throw away an old, unwanted mobile phone or used inkjet cartridge - STOP!

You can now send mobile phones for re-cycling, at no cost to yourself, and know that not only is the phone going to be put to good use in overseas countries (or properly boken up and recycled for its component parts if it is not usable), but that each one returned will raise some money to help support Midshires.

Similarly, old inkjet cartridges (most makes except Epson, and no laser cartridges please) can be sent for refurbishing and refilling. Each one will earn £1 for Midshires funds.

To recycle your phone or inkjet cartridge, click on the Recycle 4 Charity logo and fill out the simple form to enable recycling envelopes to be sent out to you. Once you have the bags, simply put the phone or cartridge in the envelope and pop into the post. There is no cost to you as the envelopes are to a Freepost address. That's all there is to it.

Buy and Sell Items on eBay

When you buy an item listed on the Midshires eBay for Charity page, you will know that the seller will donate a percentage of the selling price to Midshires. There is no extra cost to you as a buyer!

In a similar way, if you sell an item on eBay, you can choose to donate a percentage (between 10% and 100%) of the final amount raised to Midshires. Just create a seller's listing in the usual way, looking for the "donate percentage of sale" link. Select Midshires as your chosen charity and select the percentage you wish to donate from the sale.

If you don't use eBay yourself, but have unwanted items that you would like to donate to Midshires, simply contact one of the Support Team and we will arrange to collect them from you. If the item can be used by Midshires as part of our normal activities, then that is what we shall do. If not, we will sell it on eBay and use 100% of the money raised to add to our funds.

Join our Support Team

If you can spare some of your time, then you may wish to help more directly in planning, organising and running our various fund-raising events.

You could simply volunteer to help at the event itself if you do not have time to get involved more fully. If you are free when an event is due to take place and would like to help out, just contact us using the details below. You will be made to feel very welcome and will know that you are helping to raise money for a good cause.

As well as organising fund-raising events, we also seek funding via grant-aid and other funding organisations. If you have previous experience in seeking out an applying for grants and funding, or would simply rather get involved in this rather than the more public-facing events, we would also be most grateful for your help.

If you can spare more time and would like to get involved on a regular basis, we would be happy to welcome you as a member of the Support Team. We generally meet once a month to plan events and to monitor progress with the arrangements, but this could be more often for a large event. But however large or small the amount of time you can spare, we would be glad to hear from you.
